PHOTOGRAPHY
& VIDEO
- To avoid any misunderstandings we
ask that camera phones
are NOT taken into changing rooms, (it would be preferable to leave
them at home).
- We may use photos of youth members
on club publicity
(website, literature etc), however, we will ensure that we do not use a
name with the photograph. If you have any concerns regarding this
please let us know.
- Should we wish to use a photograph
together with a name,
parental consent will be sought before doing so.
- We ask that parents taking
photos/videos at any cricket
events do so for their own personal records/family albums and that the
privacy and confidentiality of other club members and opponents is
respected.
- Video analysis is a very useful
coaching aid. In the
future we may use video analysis as part of our coaching programme.
If
we choose to do so great care will be taken to ensure the
confidentiality of the films and that all films are stored carefully.
CLUB
CHANGING POLICY
- Mixed Gender
Teams:
Unfortunately most cricket pavilions/club houses do not have enough
changing rooms to facilitate separate- sex changing. We therefore
suggest that all players arrive at the venue changed and ready to
play. The changing room can then be used for the storage of kit,
putting on of protective wear and team talks. We will endeavour
to ensure the changing rooms are supervised by two responsible adults –
ideally one of each sex.
- U15 – 17 Youth
Members Playing with Senior Sides: We hope that many of our
older and more able youth members will have the opportunity to play in
a senior team during the course of a season. Again since most
cricket pavilions/club houses only have two changing rooms this means
that youth players will share changing facilities with the senior adult
cricketers. If you have any concerns about this issue please contact
John Pilcher on 01235 868154 or 01235 763335.
TRANSPORTATION
- It is the responsibility of
parents/carers to transport
their child or children to and from the club and all fixtures.
- In case of emergencies Challow and
Childrey Cricket Club
will endeavour to ensure that all club coaches and team managers for
youth fixtures have completed a Private Vehicle Registration form (this
is to help ensure that their vehicle has appropriate insurance, road
tax and MOT).
COACH
QUALIFICATIONS
- All our training and coaching
sessions will be lead by ECB
qualified coaches. It is an ECB requirement that all volunteers,
coaches, team managers, umpire and scorers are CRB checked and we are
working hard to ensure that Challow and Childrey Cricket Club follow
this requirement.
- Coach education is high on our
agenda, we are encouraging
all our coaches to gain a coaching award, a current first aid and child
protection certificate, plus be a member of the ECB Coaches
Association. Coach education is an on-going concern and we hope
many of our coaches will go on and gain further coaching qualifications.
- In addition the club will run basic
resuscitation sessions
during the coming season.
FIRST
AID
- Many of our coaches have current
first aid qualifications;
the current level 1 cricket coaching course includes a first aid
unit. At Wednesday training a first aid kit and instant cold
packs are available in the club house. At away fixtures team
mangers will be provided with a first aid kit and instant cold packs.

Welcome
to our 2006
season.
On the
club notice boards the following information is displayed:
- Young People in Cricket –
Underpinning principles.
- Code of Conduct for Club Officials,
Coaches, Parents,
Spectators and Volunteers.
- Anti-bullying Policy.
NEWS
FOR 2006
- Coaching Ratio. Our aim is to
maintain a coaching
ratio of 1 coach per 12 children – this means we need a small army of
volunteer coaches on a Wednesday evening and assistance with our
competitive youth fixtures. We will do our best to commit to this
ratio.
- Waiting List . Committing to
the coaching ratio does
mean that we have had to start a ‘waiting list’. If you know of
any young cricketers (boys or girls) who are interested in joining
Challow and Childrey Cricket Club please contact the club in order for
their name to be added to the list.
- Youth Selection for Senior
Sides. Any youth member
with the ability, form and commitment to play for our senior teams will
be considered at senior selection. It is hoped and expected that
all youth players will aspire to play in our senior teams and be
available if selected.
- Attendance at senior nets sessions
are by invitation from
the Selection Committee and specifically the Club Captain Roger Podbery.
- Youth Players in the 3rd
Team. Wherever possible 3
youth players will be included in the senior 3rd team playing OCA
Division 8. The aim is to provide experience of playing in longer
games and to assist them in fully integrating into the club and helping
them make the transition from youth to senior cricket.
- U14’s and U13’s to be Introduced to
Scoring. Part of
playing in the 3rd team involves taking your turn to score; scoring is
a valuable part of the game especially when it comes to producing
averages at the end of each season. The ability to score a match
also helps players to understand the complexities of the game. In
preparation for this we would like to introduce scoring to all U14 and
U13 youth members.
- Parental Involvement. We would like
to encourage
parents/carers to become involved, all offers of assistance will be/are
greatly appreciated. We are aware that we have plenty still to
learn so if you have any suggestions, ideas, concerns or worries please
tell us, we would like all parents/carers to feel happy with and a part
of the club.
