Abingdon Vale 76-3.  Challow 77-2 (R Gordon 46no)

On a damp wicket and a wet outfield all batsmen played well. In particular Abingdons T. Tierney hit some lusty blows in a well struck 35 that included 2 sixes. In reply, a well timed 46 not out from opener Ryan Gordon saw Challow home in the 15th over.

May 12
Shrivenham (H)
W

Shrivenham 117 for 4 (A Bowles 50no) Challow 118 for 3 (Ryan Gordon 54no)

In a well contested match and on a very good batting strip Shrivenham batted first and compiled a competitive 117 for 3 wickets. They were indebted to a fine knock from A Bowles who was 50 not out, ably supported by S Winskill who scored 21 not out. In reply Challow were always up with the run chase with Ryan Gordon scoring 54 not out well supported by Nigel Hume who scored 25 and W Holmes with 22 not out. Spinner R Slator was Shrivenham’s main bowling threat with impressive figures of 3 for 28 off his 4 overs. A highly enjoyable game played in good spirit between two good sides.
